Wednesday 22 December 2010: DBYC Christmas Party

Tonight was the party of the DBYC. All the children dressed up for the occasion and waited in anticipation for the party to begin after the rosary was said.

Food was served for 230 children. Each child received spaghetti, a meat ball and a kebab along with a soft drink. All the children were so excited to receive their dinner.

After dinner there were performances by different groups. Watch some of the performances here:

After the performances there were games. For example, groups were given balloons and told to create a Christmas decoration out of them. It was funny to watch because the younger children found the balloons very hard to blow up.

Finally 'Bundles of Joy' were given to every child. The attendance of every child had been monitored over the year. Depending on how many times the children had attended depending on the size of their gift - either a, b or c. Those who were disappointed to receive only a small gift will hopefully attend more next year as there is always something to work towards. The children were very happy with the gifts. The smaller ones could not even carry the bags home but instead had to drag them!
